Dolora celebrated for 25 years of performances at the Gran Teatre del Liceu

June 25, 2014|Reviews
At the end of opening night of the Gran Teatre del Liceu's production of Suor Angelica, Dolora (performing as Zia Principessa) was showered with leaflets in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her debut at the theater. Read the reviews below: “The queen of the celebration was Dolora Zajick as the cruel Zia Principessa, who gave her more humanity than is usual to the character thanks to the beauty of her voice. At the end of the evening, multicolored leaflets showered down on her, celebrating the 25 years that Zajick has performed at the Liceu (beginning with Verdi's Requiem on 19 May 1989).” (La Vanguardia, 24 June 2014) “A similar control was exhibited by Dolora Zajick, who was rightfully honored with a shower of leaflets to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her debut at the Liceu. Her portrayal of the ruthless princess was a lesson in how you can act with the voice (a still formidable instrument).” (Ara, 23 June 2014) “The public enthusiastically applauded the American mezzo Dolora Zajick, who plays the heartless Aunt of Sister Angelica. And not only an ovation: the audience, seated in the upper levels, tossed colorful leaflets with her photo and a short text in English thanking her for the 25 years of extraordinary work with the Gran Teatre.” (La Vanguardia, 23 June 2014) “The role of the disagreeable Zia Principessa is well portrayed by Dolora Zajick, a luxury casting.” (ABC, 24 June 2014) “…a splendid Dolora Zajick (the evil Aunt Angelica)…was honored with a massive release of leaflets, in which they thanked her for her 25 years of loyalty to the Liceu.” (El Periódico, 24 June 2014) “…the second (applause) with enthusiasm and even a rain of leaflets was in honor of Dolora Zajick, whose portrayal of the Principessa, Suor Angelica’s heartless aunt, was solemn and barren.” (El Mundo, 24 June 2014)
